The Rebirth: Lace, wild growth and confidencePosted by: Crissy on Nov 23, 2009 |

Hi my lovely Natural people! it's been a while since I wrote a blog so I'm just here with a quick update and product review as promised. (below)
Recently I've been using a product called wild Growth and I have to say I truely see a difference in my hair. I take pics every other week since using it (started last month) and I measure my new growth at the crown and around the edges because they were really thin. The hair at my crown has grown an inch! instead of the normal 1/4 to a half inch that's it's been growing since my transition. Possibly a little more but I measure to the nearest inch. The oil makes my new growth a lot more manageable and helps to keep it moisturized.
At first I was a little skeptical with all the "grow your hair fast" products out there that dont even work but this one has been around for 20years!! and I googled my butt off looking at as many reviews from every site I can imagine and out of about 100 reviews or so I found 1 bad one and 1 moderate review....out of hundreds!! I mean if a product has been around for so many years with barely no bad reviews it must do the job. Seriously this is some good stuff and the best part is that it's ALL NATURAL!! no harsh ingredients so if your a natural product freak like myself then this is good for you. Here are links to sites that can give you more info and links to a few reviews (but feel free to google more!!) you can buy this at your nearest Sally's or basic beauty supply stores. It most likely will be behind the register so ask the cashier for it.

Moving right along, I recently purchased my very first Lace wig!! sounds exciting doesn't it? it was! lol. I am doing a pro-style challege so I decided to go ahead and get myself a quick fix protective style. it's pretty long :-/ but I think im going to take it and get it cut. Once I got it home I didn't like it as much as in the store. It is a full lace, probably about 18 inches layered but it doesn't really have space for parts so I'm not felling it too much. It looks really cute with my hats so I guess I'll use ot as my hat wig. lol! it was cheap so I can't complain much. You get what you pay for.
The first time I wore it outside I felt like "omg! everyone is looking at my WIG!!" LOL I felt weird but I had to remind myself that a wig should be the least of my worries. Everyone and they momma wear lace wigs, weaves, and extensions where I live so I'm sure I fit right in. It's funny how confidence works once you have a certain mind frame and your outlook on life changes. A few months ago I would have rocked that wig like nobody's business! but now that I am embracing natural styles and my own hair, wearing anything besides that gives me an insecurity I never thougth I would have. It's the kind of insecurity that you all may have experienced while transitioning. Not knowing how your natural hair will look or what people may say or how you look with it. strange? I guess not.
but any who, share your thoughts, comments, rate all that good stuff. Welcome all newbies to MYNHCG! and Stay tuned!
