The last time it rained in Charlotte was the 2nd day of June. Of course, today is the 25th. And the heat is atrocious! I can't believe it is so hot!. This winter was brutal (by Charlotte standards, not mine). So why is it 94-97 degrees everyday? This brings about:::::

THE DREADED PONYTAIL! Of course with my thick hair transitioning, it doesn't look neat. Of course, me styling it doesn't add to the neatness at all. I'm a "brush it back, but a clip on" type of girl. Right now, it's doesn't look great. And my hair is fighting me. Or I'm fighting it. We're fighting each other, but it's a 12 round boxing match. My hair and frustration has won the first round.  I did manage to curl it with some rollers, earlier this week but hell! I woke up with a headache! I tossed and turned all night because I couldn't lay my head right! And it didn't curl. I'm not the best curler. Everything is a challenge (I'm praying for boys when I have kids). Now I understand why my stylist wanted us to wait until fall to start the transition.

BUT::::

 I either do it now or never. What the hell is difference between waiting for the weather to calm down? I'm going to get frustrated regardless of the season. When October comes, I'll probably be pissed because of the wind and rain and my time will be cut because of school. So why not just started the frustration during the worst months??? Why not start this pain now, when my head feels like I stuck it in hell for a  "no A.C. party." At least I have time to work on it now. Starting in September, my last trimester of school will start and grad school will start right after. Gotta cut it in my schedule now!

I'm sitting here in my home with hair that looks like it hasn't been done. I do plan on going to Sally's and shopping? The question mark is for the dumb look that I have on my face while I'm typing this. I'm kind of scared to go to my stylist because I'm not sure what to tell her. She's going to want to retouch it one more time. And if I stay in my lane, she's going to straighten it out. NO and NO! Straightening it out won't help because of the humidity and working out. Plus, that takes away from the joy of learning about my hair. So I'm not ready to see her, just yet. So Sally's I will go to.

I mean, I've been there before to buy shampoo and my curling mousse (love my curling mousse). But rollers, and good shampoo that's not Pantene, and big tooth combs, are all things I'm not sure of. These are all of things that people say we should buy when transitioning. Oh yea, and a hair dryer. This is harder than standing in line for a new pair of Air Jordan's (yes, I'm one of those people as well).

I HATE HAIR DRYERS: Even with my hair permed, me underneath a hair dryer is a chore. Drying my hair takes at least one hour. It's so tiring that I repeat the dryer because I know when it's not dry.  And am I the only one that falls asleep underneath the dryer? Lord help me! Determination is the key to this success. I wish doing this wasn't so expensive. I wish I wasn't so clueless. I hope my hair forgives me. I'm sorry for what I'm about to do to you, but it needs to be done!
