Hello Everyone.... I am new at this entire natural thing. I decided to go natural after I have had a bad experience with relaxers. I currently have my hair cut short in the back with a little length in the front. I was using the regrow hair system for about a month and a half and it seems like the left sde of my hair is thinner. I have cried and prayed about my hair and i nkow that it is time to do what I have ALWAYS wanted to do..... GO NATURAL.. The probelm is since I do have a relaxer on my hair.... what should I do next???? I want it to grow. please help!

I've been were you are several times in the past. I would have a good period of growth then RELAXER DAMAGE over and over everytime I thought I was to a good pattern, but I also tended to love the kinky partial pieces, wigs and nappy, dreaded braid hair....this when I knew I loved the look of natural black hair and I had to ask myself. "Why do I continue to damage my hair and put myself through the emotional turmoil?" At first I thought I would transition, but I couldn't tolerate the two textures (personally) and I saw more damage (note at this time I had not educated myself enough on natural black hair either), BUT My decision was (BC) Big Chop it!!! My husband and daughter thought I was nutts but I was very serious and te same night, got the scissors and chopped it off.....went the next day, had my beautician trim it, line me up.....I thought I would wear a wig for a while, b/c I really cut it short- all relaxer off (you can see some of my pics).....But surprisingly my hubby said now that its trimmed it aint too bad and that Mon I threw all my wigs out and been rockin my naturale hair every since.....I read as much as I can about the care of my hair, learn as much as I can, and I have NO REGRETS...Every decision is a personal one, and maybe a few other natural can give you their experiences, and I hope I have helped. Good Luck and Stay Encouraged!!!!
