Hello all, ok 1st in response to my post hair product haul , Thank you Tisha and darkbeautytt for your input. I never tried mixed chicks, is it all natural? I also had a bad experience with making whipped shea butter. who would have guessed it wouldn't work out so well with a blender?? lmao. I will make another attempt at it later. But Tisha as far as gels go I use Elasta QP, it works well for me and I find that it adds shine without drying out the hair or giving it that plastic look and hard feel. try it maybe? I also find that Cantu mixes well with Organics products. But since I am not fully natural I can't be 100% that it will work when I am fully natural or for someone who is.

The Rebirth: "Good Hair"Posted by Crissy in Untagged |
|
Hello all, Yesterday I went to see Chris Rocks new movie Good Hair, and I must say it was informative. Mainly for people who don't neccesarily know what we as African American woman go through with our hair and trying to maintain a certain look. The most informative part for me was getting to see where the 100% Indian hair that we pay so much money for really comes from. Whats the reason behind why these woman shave their heads to give us this hair do it? If you haven't seen the movie definately check it out. It has many different peoples views on what they know to be good hair and how they feel about weaves etc.

Hello all. I went on a hair product shopping haul today and picked up a few goodies :-) I decided to try out some new Products just to start getting ideas of what works with my hair type and what works against it. I'm sure once I am 100% natural these products will have somewhat of a different effect.

The Rebirth: A transitioning journeyPosted by Crissy in Untagged |
|
Hello all! I am new to this site but I must say it is very informative and welcoming. I am currently on my second attempt at transitioning from relaxed(permed) hair to natural hair. My first attempt was taken during my pregnancy. Before realizing I was pregnant I already made a choice to go natural and went a whole 4 months before I discovered I was "with child". This made it a lot easier for me since I don't believe pregnant woman should use chemicals in their hair. I went the entire 9 months and 2 months there after before PANICING!! I was loosing a lot of hair and my immediate thought was "omg I no longer have the hormones to keep my transitioning hair healthy? I need a perm." I figured it would stop the massive breaking. Boy was I ignorant. lol.
