I co-wash my hair with the twists in and wear them after.
I just wet it, apply the conditioner, wash up and rinse. Because of my hair type, I do have to re-twist the ends but the top stays in pretty good. I usually let it dry and then depending on how I'm feeling, I may rock the twist out.
I can only co-wash a couple of times before the twists absolutely have to come out though, it gets fuzzy looking and acting like it wants to lock up.
I like the twists because I get the look of locks without the commitment of them, plus I don't have to do anything to my hair for a week or more.
I still haven't been able to make it two weeks with the twists in. I like to rinse my hair with water when I'm in the shower, so it unravels pretty quickly.

MissToi,
I have tried ONCE to wash my hair while in twists and that was a terrible idea...I was being lazy and didnt want to unravel everything before I washed...my TSTs got tangled and it was a HOT MESS of a situation for me. It may work for some, but for me it was a HUGE NO GO and NEVER EVER AGAIN LOL...

Ladies?!?! Does anyone wash their hair while the twists are still in, then continue to wear the twist? I know one of my favorite Youtubbers does.

No not at all. Our hair needs lots of moisture. My hair loves butters. I make sure I get moisture in every step. What are you using in your hair?

MissToi,
Have you experienced any type of breakage when unraveling hair for the twist-outs, or have you been able to notice any of that yet?

Ive been wearing twistouts since my BC 8/4/09. I use primarily Jane Carters Lock and twist and minimal IC Fantasia before I twist. I rewet with Aloe Vera. I love it. I have a twist out in my profile pic!!
